What is the Group Management

In EasyCubed, User access is managed through two kinds of Groups:

  • Role Groups
  • Access Groups

Role Groups are used to designate specific access for a given role. Role Groups are created for users performing the same functions within an organization.

Access Groups provide specific access to a system and are nested within one or more Role Group

All systems will be associated with one or more Access Groups, depending upon the level of access required.  For example, aSystem1_read provides read only access to System1, while aSystem1_write provides write access.

The Group page allows users to search by Role Group or Access Group. A Role Group search provides a user with more details about the Group, as well as with the ability to edit the Group’s name and access.

Role Groups can be added and removed from Access Groups by editing the Role Group.

Access Groups cannot be modified directly within EasyCubed.

A full list of Access Groups is available in the Reports that contains the details of each Role Group within all Access Groups.

Pro Tip: For identification/administration purposes, using the preferred “r” for roles and “a” for access in the naming convention is recommended.
